splintered floor: He's back!

Coatings in small pieces that complete each other and form mosaics covering floors and walls. You may have already seen this cladding model in the architecture of some cities or more traditional houses. Classic of Brazilian architecture of the years 1940 e 1950, the broken floor is back, and reappears with more quality and technology.
This new trend that rescues the charm of the past and fills us with nostalgia was present in some projects presented at the Mostra Glass Home 2021, held in Novo Hamburgo (RS - Brazil). check out:
Bossa Space – STUDIO BLOCK ARCHITECTURE
Seated in cutouts that do not repeat, the porcelain arctic alp remembers the broken floors of grandma's house. The project, Signed by Bloco studio, there is a duality between the popular and the erudite, between warmth and sophistication, between jazz and samba, and consists of three spaces that complement each other: to library, o living e o lavabo.
“The choice of materials was based on the idea of recovering elements present in the Brazilian house, like the wood lining, the ceramic shards floor and the brick wall, through a contemporary reinterpretation of these elements", says Maicon Soares, architect and partner of the office. One of the differentials of this project is the relaxed and sophisticated astral, the richness of textures and the sense of unity that exists between the three environments.
BALCONY BALCONY AT THE TAMARA RODRIGUEZ OFFICE ARCHITECTURE
"A space created for the balance of the senses, integration and connection”, it's like the architect Tamara rodriguez define the project. A balcony that highlights the importance that outdoor areas have gained in recent times. Far beyond the get-togethers, this environment is also a place of connection with nature, with well-being through the practice of physical activities and social and family integration.
To enhance the natural appearance of this space, the professional opted for porcelain beige arena in an original and innovative cut, with the floor in pieces, exploring the possibilities of porcelain.
The chipped floor makes environments even more exclusive by creating unique and personalized looks. It's a sustainable option, since it uses every part of the coating, and it guarantees a space full of charm and affectionate memories.
