The exposure New Times, on Casa Brazil Eliane, is presenting the creation of 10 great names in Brazilian design. Creatives who were challenged to transform porcelain tiles into exclusive furniture. Four of them created from the large formats of the Eliane, giving rise to watches, chaise, tables, sideboard and mirror mosaic. Pieces that present all the creative and functional potential of ceramics, as well as they are loaded with the creative concept of the professionals..
Know who are the professionals behind each piece:
Karol Suguikawa
Karol Suguikawa is a designer and architect from Mato Grosso, who works with authorial and commercial production. References come from fashion, radical Italian architecture and design in the Memphis style. in the arts, flirts with Brazilian neoconcretism and with production by Amílcar de Castro and Sergio Camargo. for Eliane, Karol embraced a doubled challenge: materialize time in giant clocks, and bring comfort and coziness in the form of a chaise.
XL watches bring all the formal technical and aesthetic boldness of large format ballasts. is made with Marble Branco PO 120x240cm. In a gesture cut that divides the piece into two parts; turning and fitting these pieces creates a watch with maximum use of ballast. The result is a set of contemporary watches, but with vintage proportions – 2,40 Tall.
Chaise Tectônica, on the other hand, looks at Brazilian Neoconcretism. It's a functional sculpture; three blocks that can form a sculpture or, if juxtaposed, can form a chaise. The name is given by the visual weight of the piece and the displacements of large blocks. The creation takes the Anthracite AC 120x240cm porcelain tile.
Pietro Oliveira
Pietro Oliveira is a beautiful horizontino designer. In 2018 he founded CABOCO the design company that unites modernist and regional references, with the vision of spreading design through the connection and appreciation of local artisans in the production of their pieces. Pietro received the title of rising talent for the Casa Vogue Design award. For the familiarity of partnerships with the industry, agreed to create from porcelain, and designed the Troop Table.
A metallic structure base supports the top in Marmo Gris PO 120x240cm, and from this union is born a dining table with curved metal legs, valuing and giving prominence to ceramics, preserved almost in its originality, having only the corners removed.
Platform4
There is 6 years, Amelia Tarozzo, Camila Fix, Flávia Pagotti Silva e Rejane Carvalho Leite, four designers, came together to take the universe itself off paper and, together, explore side by side, the creative power of each one, thinking and developing furniture and objects. After years of remote meetings and a lot of virtual creation, gathered their work in a showroom recently opened on Rua Ferreira de Araújo, 818 in Baixo Pinheiros, where they present the production of indoor and outdoor furniture, carpets, lamps, vases and objects. a swap space, creation and enhancement of authorial work, where they expand collaborative doing, also with partners, artists and new services.
The Mosaic Panel was created from Micron Branco and Coral NA 80x80cm porcelain tiles and mirror. Reinterprets the image of ceramic shards floors, in an expanded scale forming an irregular composition of pieces. the broken floor, used from the decade of 1940 in traditional Brazilian houses, is considered a legacy to the history of São Paulo.. A coating that remains in the imagination and affective memory of São Paulo residents. The Mosaic Panel started from this reference to create a contemporary piece.
F.studio
From the urban and industrial landscapes emerge the references of F.studio – an architecture and design studio in São Paulo, idealized in 2013 by Fernando Fernandes, Felipe
Vargas e Flavia Araujo. The trio, of Minas Gerais, inspires the light rhythm in your drawings
of well-defined shapes combined with materials and textures characteristic of the region – iron, wood and concrete. They experience everything from the scale of the object and furniture to the building and the city.
From these experiments came the inspiration for Aparador Vila. like a riding game, the structure of the piece is born from the sum of steel bars in different shapes (round, square and rectangular), screws and plates. Added to this structure, the Micron NA 80x80cm porcelain tile, in white colors, black, Gray and Coral, as a horizontal and functional element, in addition to shelves and box on the sideboard. Tubular steel bars bring greater stability and lightness, and the characteristic of colorbody - single mass - of the Tecxtone porcelain tile, allows frieze fitting finishes, rounded edges for the shelves and chamfers for the box.
The exposure New Times is one of the main attractions of DW! The São Paulo Design Week, and is curated by Regina Galvão, technical direction of Alexandre Brunato and technical support from Andressa Sant’anna.
