Brick Art: discover Lucia Gurovitz's favorite pieces

Lucia Gurovitz is a journalist in the fields of architecture, interiors and design 25 years. She is the curator of DW!, the Sao Paulo Design Week, which opened the program this week with several attractions for architecture lovers, design, culture, innovation and creativity.
That Design Weekend, Lúcia helps brands in the creation of their narratives for the festival and it is under this attentive and trained eye that Eliane prepares her exhibition “Brick Art”, special release for the DW! at Casa Brasil, in Sao Paulo.
Brick Art is a new product category: pieces in the 7x26cm format that bring a new interpretation of the traditional English extruded brick, provoking the obvious with a palette that ranges from rustic aesthetics to classic monochromatic, uniting the affective memory to what is most innovative in coatings.
There are three collections – Made, Tour and Neutral – in total, 21 pieces of such diverse styles that there is a brick for every taste. So, to Eliane you wanted to know: What are Lucia Gurovitz's favorites?? Check out the choices and get inspired by the ideas for using each one.
The product has a similar tone to the exposed brick of the country house of my childhood. Therefore, the choice was immediate. It looks great on facades surrounded by greenery and internal garden walls., because it goes well with the green. In houses with tiled roofs, produces the colorblocking effect, visually uniform. But it also works great in houses with box-like architecture., roofless. I would use horizontal mooring pagination in a house with a roof and vertical alignment, more modern, in a box-shaped construction. Great option even for an indoor floor, with fish scale laying.

On here, the tone is more reddish and warm. Reminds me of townhouses (semi-detached houses) from the Brooklyn neighborhood, in New York. This memory makes me immediately imagine the use in facades of low buildings and in sets of townhouses.. It's a charm! But it's also worth taking advantage of the warm color to create a focal point indoors., applying the coating to a specific surface. The fireplace wall or the wall where the dining room sideboard is located deserves this treatment.. As the tone of the material already draws attention, I would bet on simple pagination such as horizontal alignment.

blue is my favorite color, so the coating soon caught my eye. Into a swimming pool, it's a choice without error. In addition to displaying a very beautiful sea tone, it brings veins on the surface that resemble the effect of rippling waters. Therefore, I would opt for straight pagination, less busy, such as vertical or horizontal alignment.

Caliza Gray EXT 60x120cm Angra Ocean Ma 7x26cm
Chic, this discreet color does not go unnoticed, and the light gloss shine of the Neutral line contributes to this. I would use the cladding on the walls of a kitchen, combined with cabinets in natural wood tone, like freijó, neither too light nor too dark. If the area covered by the coating is small, would use pagination with less visual information, such as vertical or horizontal alignment. Now, if the surface is more extensive, you can play with the design and use the fish scale or diagonal lashing.

The shade of gray makes me feel futuristic, time capsule. Therefore, would explore the wrapper effect with it. It would make a very scenic bathroom, with coating applied to all walls. I would resort to vertical binding pagination to create the feeling of something fragmented. It would complete the room with a frameless circular mirror installed above the washbasin..
