grout: learn cleaning and maintenance tips

Grout plays a key role in appearance, integrity and longevity of ceramic coatings. As well as the other elements of the space, It requires care and attention to keep it in perfect condition., without compromising the aesthetics of the environment.

We invite our Quality Control and Technical Assistance manager Eliane, Anderson Patricio Eziquiel, to teach how to keep them clean. Besides that, he also mentions which products to use, homemade cleaning solutions and the variety of types on the market.

Check and understand which grout will best meet your needs!

Which products are most recommended for grout cleaning?? There are homemade solutions that truly work?

– It is possible to find products on the market designed especially for this type of cleaning.. They are formulated to attack accumulated dirt without compromising the integrity of the coating. For those occasional everyday stains, of products falling on the floor, we can use kitchen vinegar. The preference is white vinegar, that works well and does not harm the coating, be it floor, tile or porcelain.

What tools are recommended for cleaning?

– Special grout cleaning brushes are effective in removing accumulated dirt. Old toothbrushes are also a good option.. No matter how hard it is, as it is not a routine and continuous cleaning, it delivers excellent results. The secret is to keep them clean. Thereby, certainly the use of brushes or more laborious solutions will be unnecessary.

Which type of grout is easiest to keep clean?

– Light grout tends to show more dirt and stains, while dark grouts better disguise. Please note, also, than silicone, Acrylics and epoxy have superior performance in terms of cleaning and durability. They are less porous and, therefore, less susceptible to dirt impregnation, facilitating maintenance.

What are the characteristics of the most common types of grout?

– Cementitious grouts, the most common, mainly have cement and sand in the composition, being effective, but more likely to get dirty and stain. Epoxy grout is the best of all worlds. Delivery performance, has durability, however, it has greater added value and is more difficult to apply. Acrylic grouts are an intermediate option., with superior performance when compared to cementitious, with easy application and more affordable cost than epoxy grouts.

In summary, Cleaning and maintaining grout are essential aspects to preserve the beauty and integrity of ceramic tiles in your environment. With the right products and some practical tips, it is possible to keep the grout impeccable.

Remember that choosing the type of grout, color and quality can make a big difference in ease of maintenance. Therefore, when choosing the right grout, you will be investing in a space that will remain stunning for a long time. Take good care of your grouts and they will repay you with an impeccable and inviting environment..
