For the well-being of the planet by Regina Galvão

Era 2003 and me, crafts and design editor at Casa Claudia magazine, publication by Editora Abril about the universe of interior design. At that time, there was little talk about sustainability, but the magazine team was increasingly interested in the subject. That was when the editorial director at the time, Silvia Farias, decided, a year before, create an award to value companies and professionals in the areas of architecture and decoration engaged with sustainable development.

Like this, the Planeta Casa Award was born, which lasted until 2008. I remember seeing my writing colleagues thrilled with the applications that arrived from all over Brazil, with initiatives that made us believe in a better world that is more respectful of the environment. One of these actions that marked me was the liquid effluent treatment station built by Eliane. With her, the fish of the Tigris river, in the municipality of Cocal do Sul, in Santa Catarina, Where is your industrial hub?, they swam again in clear waters.
I don't know why, but this image remained in my memory. In the second edition of the event, a Eliane Ceramic Coatings was one of the winners in the Social Action category, being applauded for taking advantage 60% of clean water in its production process, also favoring the only drinking source in the region. For these and others, which includes a design exhibition curated by me, House in Brazil Eliane, during São Paulo Design Week, o D.W.! E, I feel happy and honored to have been asked by the company to participate in this blog. It will be a monthly meeting, in which I intend to bring relevant topics to our market. I hope it's a long journey, as has been Eliane's commitment to investing in technology and training to seek the well-being of her community and the planet.
