iSaloni holds event after two years without public presence

The most important design fair in the world, which presents the main trends in the sector, predicting what will be adapted to homes in the coming years in furniture, will happen, in person and exceptionally, in June. Saloni, Salone del Mobile in Milan, after two years without receiving people because of the pandemic, comes back full of news and wishes, in its 60th edition, hold a big event. Brazilian names are present at the fair, which has sustainability among its premises
In its 60th edition, the main design furniture fair on the planet, the Salone del Mobile in Milan, happens from 7 a 12 of june in the city of Milan, in Italy, and waits for this edition to once again receive people and professionals from around the world in person, as always happened, according to Maria Porro, president of Salão do Móvel in a statement on the fair's website. “The decision to postpone the event will allow exhibitors to, visitors, journalists and the entire international furniture and design community make the most of an event that promises to be packed with news, in complete safety.” This year, the fair takes place exceptionally in June due to the Covid-19 pandemic – annually it is held in April.
All the 24 pavilions of the 'Rho Fiera' – site of major exhibitions and fairs in the city of Milan and surroundings –, will be crowded, filling the 200.000 m² of exhibition area with 2.000 exhibitors, 25% of them from abroad. This edition will include, still, seven exhibitions: O International Furniture Fair, a International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition and Workplace 3.0, at bienal Euro Cuisine (and its FTK side event – Technology For the Kitchen) e a International Bathroom Exhibition, S. Project and SaloneSatellite with their 600 designers like less than 35 years, located this year in the first two pavilions for the first time. It is worth noting that the SaloneSatellite, designed in 1998 and curated by Marva Griffin Wilshire, responsible for the successful debut and launch of several young Italian and international design talents, is at the same time a 'launchpad' for recent graduates and professionals with less than 35 years, giving them the opportunity to showcase their projects, and a point of reference for companies looking for future talent, a chance to see new ideas and original design approaches for themselves.
With the theme of sustainability, the Salon hopes to serve “as a showcase for the advances made in this regard by creative, designers and companies”, punctuates Maria. in the same direction, brands like Alpi that have in their DNA “sustainability as a design philosophy”, presents new collections, counting the unique ability of a company, according to the brand itself, able to continually reinvent wood, expanding the boundaries of research. Curated by the brand's art director, or mestre Piero Lissoni, The novelties arise from the company's desire to propose new decorative wooden surfaces, reproducing protected raw materials. Like this, and for the first time in 'Salone del Mobile' in the S-Project section, Alpi launches the Legacy collection that brings inspirations from a selection whose species is already threatened or in danger of extinction, like ebony, hoduras mahogany, rosewood, among others.

Thinking of comfort combined with elegance, another giant of Italian design, a Gervasoni, that makes history since 1882, counts for the first time with the collaboration of several designers, from different backgrounds, to create collections that cover the furniture universe indoor e outdoor. under curatorship, of the equally master, Ferruccio Laviani, one of the main highlights for the Salon is the opening of an exhibition space with more than 700 square meters. Located on Spartaco road, it will be possible to meet, beyond the new showroom, the outdoor furniture collections signed by Federica Biasi, Chiara Andreatti, Elena Sanguankeo, Gabriele and Oscar Buratti and Paola Navone, and news for indoor areas, created by names like David Lopez Quincoces, Federico Peri, Cristina Celestin e, again, Federica Biasi who brings one of the highlights with the Hashi collection. Indoor, this launch is composed of a modular sofa and rocking chair and starts from a system with a minimal and rigid structure that refers to its name., the 'chopsticks' (chopsticks in japanese), utensils used daily in Japanese meals.

A Nodes, specializes in making rugs, presents during FouriSalone, the Hiatus collection by designer Gustavo Martini and Circus Black, of the acclaimed Campana Brothers, in front of Campana Studio. made in india, the series composed of three martini mats brings manual techniques. “The project explores the boundaries between two opposing design languages, where one is guided by precision and rationality and the other by natural materials and artisanal process. Another interesting aspect for me is that this rug is a great opportunity to work for the first time on a two-dimensional support and also my first experience with rugs..
